If you’re here, reading this, it’s either because we know each other, for a while, and you’re wondering about my whereabouts, so yeah, things could not be better, all things considered!… however, if you’re here ‘cuz a search engine found us, ‘cuz a tweet we liked and favorited, or because @LinkedIN fed me a “Job Posting” well, read on!

So I’ll start at the beginning: I’m NOT a ‘millenial’ freshly minted out of a renowned college; what I actually am is, Demographics-wise, a “tail-end #Boomer”,  a Venezuelan-American Inmigrant to the U.S, freshly-minted as a U.S. Citizen, whose life and travails are centered on all things technology, so no, if you’re actually looking for a younger mind to train, skip to the next profile, and thanks for reading!

Yes, I have been around, know a few languages, some of them NOT spoken by machines but by people; fully bilingual in Spanish & English, conversant in German, and fluent in most every other app out there, yes.

Sorry, I don’t write code/scripts but I can manage well what others have written; so yes I can help you manage integrations and find workable workarounds in your I.T. Systems…

So YES, I’m looking for those who consider Social Media/Networks as such: “Integrated I.T. Processes/Systems” – In Real Time & Mission-Critical to most!

… and no, I don’t use any of these apps; I use those who are a tad bit more ‘creative’ – yet, I’m pretty sure, if I took the time to read the T.O.S., it’s all pretty much a bunch of legalese saying “you opted in, you’re ours” – which is what I gather from above.

The price of Freeware, perhaps? I’m glad to pay for it; it’s quid-pro-quo: I get a free app, they get to know about me – or at least what I’ve decided to post it’s ‘me’ (meaning, we still control the conversation, Facebook’s pestering for ‘additional profile information’ notwithstanding)

… now… would there ever be real ‘privacy’ on the Web?

Maybe if you’re a real large organization, whose resources – and compliance factors – allow it and require it? a shred of it; yet again, it’s privacy TILTED for the sake of the organization’s goals and needs  – NEVER the users.

So what do I do?

These were originally posted in my blog as a set of notes on the sessions occurring at the maiden #SoCruise /@SoCruise voyage; and now here on Examiner.Com as a series on the value these events bring to marketers and individuals who are venturing into this nascent industry.

GregCangialosi is the CEO of Blue Sky Factory, a leading provider of email services, and as such, his keynote titled The Future of Connectivity encompassed a series of thoughts about different communication mediums- and how they become most relevant as we move forward; Greg then illustrated it with the current controversy surrounding the Beta Launch of GoogleWave which for many does not even make sense at all, but according to Greg contains “big implications that people miss out”

These kind of statements come from having “a passion that develops from how business communicate out” as he remarked and ellaborated on previous comments made by Chris Brogan apropos “you live and die by your database” and Lyell Petersen about Twitter remarking “this means you could end up with nothing.”

Cangialosis sees Email “as the glue” yet his company is always thinking about the new tools for business: prospects, current customers, the media, “whatever the audience may be”

His company’s been thinking about how businesses communicate during this whole shift from an organization turning into a publishing organization: where content/engagement marketing as the barriers to entry have been lowered to the point where “you have a webcam and you’re a content producer!” So how do we business people think about them in an integrated fashion is key also to when we think about the future: “A GoogleWave invite, It’s an interesting concept that it’s going to change the way we communicate: And the core piece lies the fact that behind all of this Google has published it as an open standard/protocol for the web (Open Source)

Greg’s intimate knowledge of the current SMTP standard which is in his view “laden with all sorts of issues and the implications for integration are there; so it’s necessary to know enough to be dangerous to one’s current email strategies.”

He concluded by stating that in a few short years, “companies are going to run their own wave servers: in other words, they will follow the mantra of integrate, integrate!” and if needed businesses will also take advantage to combine these google wave servers – all without the issues of current SMTP e-mail.

#SeenOnAWallNearYou Series: Why We #Facebook #Fan #Brands – and for some, why we should be a ‘Fan’ of the Process! #InCaseYouMissedIt

Someone recently commented on my being/becoming a fan of Dell; as I’m unable to do short answers, here’s what I commented on my Facebook page…

“Yup; if you’d like to stay updated on promotions and new products, then updates from the Dell Business (a.k.a. Fan Page) Page will show up on your Live News Feed here in Facebook, much like everything else does.

Are you a fan of Dell? or any other major brand, for that matter?

Major brands are now having their ad agencies add “Digital Strategists” or “Community Managers” to leverage these interactive benefits.

Supposedly the level of granular interaction between both parties (i.e. a customer can complain or comment on a product on the Dell Page; supposed to bypass a LOT of layers, and since it’s a public complaint, the Dell team usually has to respond quicker than before, as it’s their ‘brand’ that’s now publicly being ‘asked’ about something – in ways heretofore never achieved.

For PR Firms, Ad Agencies and many others, it has become both a migraine, as well as an opportunity to monetize what advertisers have already figured out: we ain’t watching much TV, nothing more attractive than watching each other, what we do and like – and what we say, apparently beats most every other ‘broadcast’ put out there, both in print, TV, and even online, as most websites have had also to open up to Facebook and Twitter in their advertising/PR campaigns.

Makes sense now?

One word? “Intelligence” (as in ‘intel’) on those brands/product you favor… delivered right to your Homestream!” (Palacio, 2009)

#Cinch… Que Vacilon! This is SOOO MUCH FUN! (on #Broadcasting #Techniques)

Well, here’s what I did today in terms of EXPANDING my ‘arsenal’ (Forget that silly Kingdoms of Camelot, THIS stuff requires more REAL research than what those fake Alchemists do whilst ‘working’ in that Fake hall!) in terms of leveraging what’s out there, for me and my customers.

This neat little Web Platform, essentially allows you to record and later (well, not so late if you have an iPhone, as they already have an app for it… me? DON’T ask!) publish via shortened URL the recording that was made… knowing the little that I know about Telco, I can only THANK those who came up with this very FORWARD looking application of a traditional Voice Mail system, and I can only think of the day when BTR ties it in, as candidly speaking, this interface has much more HORSEPOWER than the one they have for the basic (read: free/unpaid) one at BTR.

Anyway, the feeling of being able to LEVERAGE otherwise wasted time on the car by ‘creating’ these clips, well, it’s just EXHILARATING to some of us (yeah, I’m writing some CAPS as I’m REALLY, REALLY excited about this!)… and why? well, at least for some of us, a nice oldie and a Venti can get our neurons to jump from synapse to synapse, and with Cinch, there’s no LOSS of the ‘concepts’ or ideas that may pour forth at otherwise UNUSABLE times; in other words, we can not only CAPTURE some great thoughts and ‘audio blog’ with them, but also, maybe have a customer’s script ready to be loaded WHILE we drive to that same customer’s meeting? or otherwise leverage tools that may sit unused for a while in the creation of the segments that would drive our BTR show (which I’m sure is the sole reason why BTR is there along with this interface, speculatively speaking?)

Apropos all the Brouhaha related to Google Wave… here’s some from the Time.Com People… hope it helps!

“Google Wave is, in short, a remarkably full-featured collaboration and communication tool, powerful enough for enterprise customers and easy enough for civilians. It’s also a warning shot across the bow of pretty much every software company anywhere. It’s amazing how many people’s grills Google is getting up into with this single product. It’s real time like AIM and Twitter (and it can talk to Twitter by importing and exporting tweets).

It’s social and shares media, like Facebook. Anybody who makes an e-mail client or collaboration software should be paying attention to Wave. This is vintage Google: give away a product that does stuff your competitors charge money for, thereby burnishing your public image and, at the same time, sapping your competitors’ will to live.

The Next Email App?

But Wave isn’t actually an e-mail killer. In practice, it’s more like an insanely rich IM client. E-mail is asynchronous; you can wait an hour or (if you are, like me, a bad person) a week to answer it.

But because Wave operates in real time, it demands immediate attention like an IM or a phone call or, for that matter, a crying baby. When Wave is up, it’s hard to focus on anything else. That isn’t a defect, but it does narrow the scope of its usefulness. Getting more information right away isn’t always the most efficient way to work.” (Time. Com, 2009)
